Into My Arms, the transition piece from the Paths That Cross series to an as yet new, untitled series for the coming year. Tatum once again graced the studio for the inaugural image, a lighter palette, subtle textures, minimal props, leaving the mind to wander several directions.
Paths That Cross is featured in the current issue of Square Magazine. Square, published in France by Christophe Dillinger, features the work of contemporary photographers working in the square format.
Thanks, Christophe for feature!
Tatum was back for another session in Paths That Cross, for Beneath the Southern Cross, above, and Lo and Behold, below. A few more shots are planned with Tatum and Brittani returns shortly for her next chapter in the story before our preview show in May, to coincide with Artisphere.
A couple of weeks ago I invited local model Hannah to come by and create some images for Paths that Cross. This is only a sampling of what we accomplished that first day, still untitled. She has since been back for another shoot and so far it looks promising, too.
Erica Jay recently ventured south to help me add some more images to Paths That Cross. Being at the mercy of Delta Airlines, what should have been a few days of leisurely shooting turned into one marathon day, but what a day!
Working with Erica, I always leave with much more than hoped, we filled in some blank spots in the project and took it to some new directions. And Erica is pure joy to work with, though you can’t really call it work.
A very successful day and can’t wait for another.
Erica Jay came to Greenville last week to help me out with another chapter in the ongoing Paths that Cross project. A few hours into shooting, the session morphed into an unconscious homage to Joyce Tenneson, whom we’re hosting this week at the SE Center for Photography.
Dancing Barefoot, another addition to the Paths That Cross project. Continuing our journey into darker places, Tatum climbed atop the alter, a sacrifice, perhaps, or just a place to grab a nap.
Recent additions to Paths That Cross. Waiting Undergound, above, and Because the Night, below. Both images came from the same session, same model, and several more images have probably made the cut , too.
Resting Crows, an image from the growing series Paths that Cross. Many more in the works and planning to start with encaustic and cold wax in the coming weeks.
